INFO:
A man was arrested on Saturday, March 29, after allegedly violating an order of protection by breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s house and then stealing her chicken, according to authorities in Washington’s Kitsap County. The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office said a woman called them for help, saying her former boyfriend had kicked in her back door, grabbed the chicken, and yelled “I’ve got Polly” several times before running away. Bodycam footage released by the sheriff’s office shows the moment deputies found the 50-year-old suspect clutching the chicken on a rural road near Port Orchard. “Don’t hurt my chicken!” the man says. “I won’t hurt your chicken!” a deputy assures him. The man was taken into custody and deputies allowed him to place the chicken safely in the back of a patrol vehicle before booking him on charges of residential burglary and violating an order of protection, the sheriff’s office said. County jail records showed that the man had been released from custody less than three hours before the incident, they added. According to a local news report, the man appeared in Kitsap County Superior Court on Monday and was facing “a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine for burglary, and a year and $5,000 in fines for violating a court order.” Storyful has reached out to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office for more information, and to request an unedited version of the video.
